About This Tour

Lake Koman – The Pearl of the Albanian Alps

With a look and climate similar to Scandinavian fjords, Lake Koman is a haven that provides inner peace. Located among hills covered with green vegetation, the lake is in the northern part of Albania. Lake Koman is an artificial reservoir on the Drin River, fed by the waters of the Shala and Valbona rivers. It covers an area of 34 km², stretching from the village of Koman to the village of Fierzë. The lake is home to 13 species of fish and amphibians. This natural gem is located between the mountain ranges of the Shkodra and Kukës regions. Interestingly, this picturesque place is the result of the creation of a reservoir built in 1978 near the village of Koman.
